New Poco Dolce Tiles Are In!

If you aren't familiar with Poco Dolce, then you need to try these toffees. They are so amazingly delicious you won't be able to stop! Come check out the new Double Shot Espresso Toffee Squares and Sea Salt Toffee Squares and find out for yourself!
For the Double Shot, they brew their own coffee and cook it directly into the toffee, then dip each individual toffee square in rich dark chocolate. And who doesn't love a little sea salt in their toffee? All in all, their are about 15 squares of chocolate dipped toffee heaven in these little packages just waiting to be eaten!

Artist Trunk Show Saturday, June 13th

Many of you have come in and admired the art that we have in the store. A few have even asked if they were for purchase. They are not, but the artist is coming to town.

On Saturday, June 13th, from 2:00-6:00 PM the very talented artist who did the pieces that hang in our store, and daughter of one of the owners, Hannah Finnie is going to be here to show her work.

Please stop by to see her other accomplishments and ask questions. She may even be available for commissions.

This is a rare opportunity to talk with Hannah while she is in town, so please mark your calendars.

What fun last night!

I want to thank everyone who joined us last night for our Ice Cream Social, especially Mrs. McCaul's class who came to visit after the Baldwin Elementary Open House. It was really a treat for us to be a part of their end of the year festivities.

Ice Cream Social this Thursday!

Our last Thursday night event as part of our Spring Fling, the Ice Cream Social, is this Thursday, May 21st, from 7-9 PM.

Bring the kids and stop by the store for 20% OFF our ice cream treats. Help us celebrate the beginning of summer and school letting out. You will also find some of our other treats for you to sample and don't forget the games available for you to borrow.

Using only REAL chocolate (actual chocolate bars that we grind up ourselves!), we blend our mocha mix with milk and a perfectly timed short-pull espresso shot, then pour it over ice to give you the ultimate in chocolate satisfaction.

New Soup Options!

As you may know we get our soups delivered fresh daily from 5th Street Bakery in Berkeley, the same as our pastries. Well now we have some new options on our weekly schedule. How does Broccoli Cheddar with Roasted Garlic sound? or Ginger Coconut Chicken? Sounds great to me and they are. I have tried them and confess that I like them even more than the previous round of soups.

The daily soup schedule is listed at the bottom of this page and is updated when we have any changes.

Stop in today and try one of our fabulous soups and maybe a ham and cheese croissant or loaf of bread to go with it.

Absolutely Divine Chocolate Tasting this Saturday!

Don't forget this Saturday, May 9th, is the Absolutely Divine Chocolate Tasting from 12:00-4:00PM.

Mark Mager will be here from Divine Chocolate, bringing tastes and answering questions about the company.

Mom's Day!

It's that time of year again and it is coming fast. This weekend is Mother's Day.

It really crept up on me quick this year.

My mother is the greatest and I want to make sure that I give her what she deserves, the very best. So, I will be picking up a few items right here at Bittersweet. It's easy for me to find the perfect gift at Bittersweet, I am here almost daily, but if you are looking and can't narrow down your choices, please stop by and ask one of our friendly Bittersweet team members for some suggestions. Chocolate Tasting with Seneca Klassen this Thursday!

The event you all have been waiting for and requesting will be this Thursday, May 7th, from 7-9 PM, Seneca Klassen will be holding on of his world famous Chocolate Tasting seminars.

There is limited seating, so please be sure to register and lock in your space now. It is only $5 and you won't be disappointed. There will be a variety of chocolates to taste and discuss, so bring those questions, because we will have the answers to all your chocolate queries. No question is too big or too small.

We will discuss origins and regions, storage and viability, all things chocolate.

Just call or come in to reserve your seat at the chocolate tasting table. See you then!

Home and Garden Tour, May 6, 2009

We are getting a green thumb tomorrow and heading out to the Diablo Women's Garden Club, Home and Garden Tour. Bittersweet will have a table in the Boutique during the Home and Garden Tour and we will be open for business between the hours of 11:00-4:00 PM. The Boutique is held at the Diablo Country Club in the Curtola Room.

Stop by and visit our table to pick up a cold drink and a pastry all for a good cause. We will have a few other Mother's Day goodies for you to purchase as well.

Help Us Help Others with our Food Drive!

Beginning Monday, May 11th we will have donation barrels around the shopping center and in Bittersweet to collect food donations for the Contra Costa County Foodbank. They are experiencing a high demand for their services during these tough economic times and we are eager to help.

This week long event culminates with on Saturday May 16th, from 1:00-4:00 PM, here at the Rose Garden. Harper Mees & Associates, a residential real estate team with Keller Williams Realty in Danville, will sponsor and organize this event. Complete with live music by Still Rockin', a local group of musicians, we are reaching out for your cooperation and support. There will also be a raffle or auction to help raise additonal funds.

Please help us help others by bringing in canned food and dropping it in the donation barrels beginning May 11th.
